Helping Arms recognized the deep struggles faced by many underprivileged women, especially those like Pepe who were battling poverty, abandonment, and hopelessness. These women often lacked financial independence, were burdened by family responsibilities, and had no one to rely on. Many were at the edge of despair—some even considered extreme steps like suicide due to mental and emotional trauma. Realizing the urgency, Helping Arms decided to do something meaningful that could change the course of their lives—not just temporarily, but permanently.
The Sewing Program: A Path to Self-Reliance
To give these women a chance at rebuilding their lives, Helping Arms started a free sewing training program. This initiative was not just about teaching a craft—it was about restoring confidence, dignity, and independence.
